Life Safety Code Surveys in Assisted Living Coming Your Way!
The interagency agreement between the Office of the State Fire Marshall and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has not been renewed. What does this mean? It means
unannounced Life Safety Code Surveys conducted by IDPH at assisted living communities.
Assisted Living and Shared Housing Establishments will need to comply with the Life Safety Code 2000 edition, Chapter 32 New Board and Care, in addition to the assisted living licensure requirements.
All surveys will be
unannounced and will usually be completed in one day. Currently, Life Safety is not coordinating their visits around the IDPH nursing home surveys.
Register today for an informational discussion with Tom Stephenson, Administrator, The Arthur Home, and Jason Lundy, Partner, IceMiller. Tom will discuss his experience with his January survey and Jason will provide tips on how to manage the surveyors. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions.
CEs will not be issued.
