Daniel Polatsek joined Ice Miller’s litigation and white collar defense and investigation groups in February after spending over 15 years at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, where he worked on matters related to fraud claims, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, contract and fiduciary duty breaches, fraudulent transfer, and defamation for corporations and senior executives.

Polatsek told Law360 Wednesday he decided to make the move because he liked the firm’s aggressive approach to growth and investment in Chicago. The firm has added several new partners and other lawyers to its Windy City office in the past year.

“Being a part of that growth platform was very exciting to me,” he said.

Part of Polatsek’s work has included conducting two multimillion-dollar civil RICO trials that involved a battle over a piece of intellectual property and a joint venture project in which certain individuals were alleged to have misappropriated or attempted to misappropriate environmental technology that combats pollution in rivers and certain large commercial vessels.
