When asked why having a strong Downtown even matters, Coleman was quick to point out the major economic impact that tax collection in Downtown Columbus has and how those dollars fund neighborhood amenities all over the city including roads, police, fire services, trash pickup, parks and recreation centers.

“If Downtown’s not vibrant, then our neighborhoods aren’t vibrant,” he explained. “Everyone has a vested interest in the success of our Downtown and we’re a group of almost one million shareholders in the City of Columbus. Everyone owns at least one share in our Downtown.”
