Michael ColemanIce Miller LLP partner Michael Coleman was quoted in the Toledo Blade article, "Former Columbus Mayor Says Toledo Can Thrive Like State Capital."

The article included:

Michael B. Coleman, a Toledo native who served as the 52nd mayor of Columbus from 2000 to 2016, spoke at the port authority’s “Update to the Community” meeting at the Malawi Event Center at The Toledo Zoo. His advice to the city of Toledo: “Don’t be afraid of success.”

“When I took over as mayor, Columbus had a confidence problem,” Mr. Coleman said. “We viewed ourselves as a cow town. And the rest of the nation viewed Columbus as a cow town. I think that attitude about the people and how we viewed ourselves was a barrier to success.”

Mr. Coleman’s comments came after the port authority officially welcomed a leadership change, sending off former president Paul Toth to retirement and welcoming Thomas J. Winston, who took over on Sept. 1, to his new position.
