Timothy Belevetz has left Holland & Knight to join Ice Miller in Washington, DC.
Ice Miller announced on 25 April that Timothy Belevetz has joined the firm’s white-collar criminal defence and investigations practice in Washington, DC. Belevetz is a former assistant US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia where he was chief of the financial crimes and public corruption unit. He was also a trial attorney in the Department of Justice’s tax division, and was most recently a partner at Holland & Knight where he spent the past five years.
Belevetz will represent clients in connection with DOJ and Securities and Exchange Commission investigations and enforcement matters. He will also conduct internal investigations and advise compliance with a focus on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He has previously investigated and prosecuted a wide range of white-collar cases including FCPA violations, securities fraud, health care fraud and campaign finance offenses.
Belevetz was at the US attorney’s office in Virginia for over 12 years, and was a prosecutor in the tax division from 2002 to 2006. He was also a staff attorney at the SEC’s enforcement division in the late 90s.
