Attorney Simone Park Joins Ice Miller
Ice Miller LLP is excited to welcome attorney Simone Park to the Firm’s Litigation Group. Simone focuses her practice on patent infringement and invalidity analyses, IP-related agreements and assessing patent portfolios. Simone has handled matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as well as the International Trade Commission and District Court.
“Simone has a very unique background,” said Steve Humke, chief managing partner of Ice Miller. “Her experience in various scientific fields, as well as her extensive understanding of patent law, will be a tremendous asset to the Litigation Group. We’re excited for her to join the team.”
Simone earned her Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2011. As a grad student, Simone co-invented U.S. Patent No. US 8,539,813, which was directed to a non-biological test material for ultrasound therapy. She first authored a publication for original research work on an application for a new technology using ultrasound to perform non-invasive surgery (histotripsy) and spoke at the 2011 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium.
As an undergraduate student in physics at Stony Brook University, Simone co-authored two publications on collaborative work with scientists applying synchrotron-based infrared spectroscopy for biomedical applications ranging from plant biology to cancer detection.
