Ice Miller Announces Extended Attorney Parental Leave Policy

Ice Miller LLP announces an extension to its parental leave policy. Effective Jan. 1, 2018, Firm attorneys will be provided with 16 weeks of paid parental leave.

The policy provides a birth parent, adoptive parent or foster care parent with paid time off to care for and bond with a newborn, newly adopted child or newly placed foster child. Regardless of gender, marital status or primary versus non-primary caregiver status, paid parental leave is available to attorneys.

“We extended our parental leave policy as part of our ongoing efforts to support work-life balance for our attorneys,” said Judy Okenfuss, an Ice Miller managing partner. “Ice Miller often is recognized as a family-friendly firm, and we are committed to retaining, developing and advancing talent among our attorneys by building a workplace culture that is inclusive, flexible and supportive.”

The new policy is a significant increase from the Firm’s previous attorney package, which offered 12 weeks of paid leave.

In addition to the extended parental leave policy, Ice Miller recently announced a breast milk shipping program. For more information about that program, click here.
