Ice Miller Announces New 2016 Partners

Ice Miller LLP is pleased to announce that nine attorneys have been named new partners of the Firm effective Jan. 1, 2016. The attorneys who have been named as partners are: Manolis Boulukos, Matt Ehinger, Christina Fugate, Heather James, Nick Merker, Lawren Mills, Derek Molter, Nick Reuhs and Brent Showalter.
Manolis Boulukos represents and advises clients in labor and employment law matters, including federal and state litigation; wage and hour issues; administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board; collective bargaining; arbitrations; union organizing; and the development of employment policies and practices, including conducting extensive wage and hour audits.
Matt Ehinger focuses his practice on state and local tax planning, compliance and controversy. He also advises tax-exempt clients (including nonprofit and governmental entities) on a broad range of issues. In addition to tax planning, Matt represents clients in audits, administrative appeals, and litigation with the Indiana Department of Revenue, in front of Indiana Property Tax Assessment Boards of Appeals, Indiana Board of Tax Review, and the Indiana Tax Court.  Matt also counsels tax-exempt clients (nonprofit public charities, private foundations and governmental entities) on a broad range of issues including corporate formation and governance, achieving tax-exemption, tax compliance, lobbying and political activities, unrelated business income and other business matters.
Christina Fugate provides risk management and litigation services for a wide range of commercial matters and clients. Christina represents companies and individuals in several types of litigation such as franchise disputes, product liability claims, real estate matters, securities litigation, bankruptcy and creditor’s rights issues, and general competitive business litigation. 
Heather James focuses her practice on financings for general obligations, utilities, tax increment, economic development, letters of credit and providing assistance to state and local governments with taxable and tax-exempt financing for themselves and local industry.
Nick Merker leads Ice Miller’s data security and privacy practice. He advises clients on complex privacy and data security issues arising from emerging technologies, including, most notably, Internet-based applications. Clients seek Nick’s counsel in all areas where privacy and data security are issues, including PCI-DSS, the HIPAA Security Rule, online privacy statements, general contract issues, the EU Data Protection Directive and U.S. Safe Harbor, anti-SPAM issues, regulatory enforcement, privacy audits (i.e. GAPP), and data security standards and audits (i.e. NERC, SSAE 16, etc.).
Lawren Mills concentrates on public affairs management, including legislative monitoring and representation, administrative law and government procurement, campaign finance and election law compliance. She has a particular focus on policy issues affecting the health care and life science industries.
Derek Molter’s practice focuses on the litigation of commercial, products liability and trade secrets disputes. He represents a wide variety of businesses, from small startup companies to Fortune 500 companies, in myriad industries, including the alcoholic beverage industry, agricultural manufacturing, private equity, energy, data analytics, construction, insurance, and consumer reviews.
Nick Reuhs is a member of the litigation group, where he concentrates his practice on insurance coverage disputes, risk management, professional liability matters and general business litigation. Nick regularly advises clients in insurance coverage matters, including policy procurement, gap analysis and claims management. As part of the firm’s Data Security and Privacy practice, Nick leads efforts to mitigate and transfer cyber-risk through cost-recovery and insurance. Nick has also served as outside counsel to other law firms in malpractice, risk management, law firm management and professional responsibility matters. Nick also has more general experience representing clients in business torts, contract disputes, and professional liability claims.
Brent Showalter advises clients on the real-world legal implications to their businesses of complex merger and acquisition transactions and general corporate matters. Brent has represented private equity funds and other individual companies in more than 65 completed mergers and acquisitions generally ranging in transaction size from less than $1 million to $150 million. Brent's merger and acquisition transactions have involved companies in various industries including manufacturing, distribution, software and technology, agribusiness, utilities, business services and consumer products.
