Ice Miller Forms Post-Roe Task Force

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s monumental decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the law firm of Ice Miller has established a multi-disciplinary Post-Roe Task Force to help our clients navigate the waves of legal and employee relations issues coming at them.

In Dobbs, the United States Supreme Court upheld Mississippi’s restrictions on abortion, effectively overturning Roe v. Wade (1973). This decision, and subsequent state legislation enacted in its aftermath, will have extensive legal implications. With individual states now free to tailor their own schemes to regulate abortion, businesses, institutions, and organizations will require significant legal assistance to remain in compliance with new—and sometimes competing or contradictory—state laws and regulations.

Ice Miller’s Post-Roe Task Force is closely monitoring such legislation and can guide clients through an increasingly complex legal environment. Comprised of a cross-practice group of lawyers who focus on health care, employee benefits, employment, data security and privacy, criminal law, and litigation, our dedicated team is positioned to deploy decades of insight and experience to help businesses, nonprofit institutions, and other local and national organizations navigate the quickly evolving scenarios around reproductive rights in the United States.

For questions regarding this issue, please contact a Task Force member: Manolis Boulukos, Tami Earnhart, Heather Maly, Tara Sciscoe, Christopher Sears, Taryn Stone, Michael Tooley, Shalina Ann Schaefer, Austin Anderson, Diane Menashe, Melissa Proffitt or Catherine Strauss

We invite you to join us at 12 pm ET on Tuesday, August 23, for a complimentary webinar about the key considerations that employers must  be aware of when navigating Dobbs-related employment and employee benefits issues in the workplace. This presentation will be the first in a planned series on Dobbs-related issues impacting our clients.
