Ice Miller LLP and Conner Prairie Announce Multi-year Collaboration

Focus on Next Generation of Leaders

Ice Miller LLP and Conner Prairie, Indiana’s first Smithsonian Institute Affiliate, are proud to announce a multi-year collaboration designed to inspire the next generation of leaders.

Ice Miller and Conner Prairie are committed to inspiring the next generation of food and agribusiness leaders who will shape the way we steward our land and care for our growing population. Ice Miller is honored to provide support to the Museum’s strategic initiatives related to agriculture, diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion. This support will be on full display as the Museum opens its historic grounds for the 2019 season on March 26.

“Ice Miller recognizes the experiences provided by Conner Prairie as key components of what makes this community one of the best in the nation,” said Steve Humke, Ice Miller chief managing partner. “It’s important for us to support and foster educational opportunities that have a far-reaching positive impact.”

As a museum, Conner Prairie is committed to driving intentional programming that delivers on our Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion (DEAI) promise. The scope of this new collaboration allows the Museum to continue to develop this programming.

“We continually strive to be a place where the doors are always open to a diversity of voices and limitless experiences for everyone,” said Norman Burns, President and CEO of Conner Prairie. “Our collaboration with Ice Miller will better position us to continue growing our DEAI programming and efforts in recruiting and retaining a more diverse workforce.”

Conner Prairie and Ice Miller are redefining how cultural institutions and corporations can work together to create transformational engagement opportunities for the community.

“Conner Prairie is known for engaging guests with relevant, immersive narratives through civic discourse that connects the past with the present and highlights the diverse populations impacting our history,” said Rich Thrapp, Ice Miller partner and chair of the Conner Prairie Museum Board of Directors.

Ice Miller has a culture of corporate philanthropy that spans its 100+-year history, so it was not a stretch for it to be a leader in the community that sets the bar for interactive family education. The attorneys and staff members of Ice Miller actively support more than 125 nonprofit organizations with monetary donations in addition to time and talent to help them fulfill their missions.
