Ice Miller Names Sean Kim 2022 LCLD Fellow and Ellen Pactor 2022 LCLD Pathfinder

Ice Miller LLP has chosen Sean Kim, a partner in the Firm’s Business Group, to be a member of the 2022 class of Fellows, a landmark program created by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.

The LCLD Fellows Program offers participants a year-long, in-depth program devoted to relationship-building, in-person training, peer group projects and extensive contact with LCLD’s top leadership and the best teachers in the business.

The firm has also selected Ellen Pactor, an attorney in the Litigation Group, to serve as its 2022 LCLD Pathfinder. While the Fellows program provides training to mid-career attorneys, the Pathfinder Program is designed to train high-performing, early-career attorneys in critical career development strategies including leadership and the building of professional networks.

“This firm would like to congratulate both Sean and Ellen for achieving this honor,” said Michael Millikan, chief managing partner of Ice Miller. “They are both joining a select group of experienced attorneys from diverse backgrounds through their potential as leaders in the legal field.”

Kim’s practice encompasses a wide range of commercial transactions for both established and emerging bio-pharmaceutical, digital health and technology companies, as well as leading academic and research institutions. This includes drafting and negotiating intellectual property licenses, joint development, collaboration and strategic alliance agreements for platform technologies, drug delivery systems and therapeutic candidates. He also advises clients on technology licenses, including software license and service agreements, content license agreements, and master services agreements

Pactor focuses her litigation practice on drug and device litigation, defending pharmaceutical, medical device, personal care/cosmetic and chemical manufacturers, distributors and retailers in complex, single, mass tort and class action matters pending in federal and state courts. Before joining Ice Miller, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John G. Baker of the Indiana Court of Appeals.

In recent years, several other Ice Miller attorneys have been selected to participate in the LCLD Fellowship and Pathfinder Programs. Among them are 2021 Fellow Michael Allen and 2021 Pathfinder Roya Porter.

Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession. Its action programs aim to attract, inspire and nurture legal talent to help a new and more diverse generation of attorneys attain leadership positions. For more information, visit
