Ice Miller Partner Brenda Horn Receives 2018 Mayor’s Community Service Award

Ice Miller LLP is proud to congratulate partner Brenda Horn on her receipt of the 2018 Mayor’s Community Service Award. Presented by Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett during a ceremony on April 16, the award recognizes Indianapolis citizens for their volunteer contributions and commitment to community service.

Brenda was recognized for her outstanding work with several Indianapolis organizations, including the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Broadcasting (WFYI), Arts Council of Indianapolis, Indiana Repertory Theatre and United Way of Central Indiana.

“Brenda has always been actively involved in the Indianapolis community and truly cares about serving others,” said Steve Humke, chief managing partner of Ice Miller. “We are very pleased to see her efforts recognized with this distinguished award.”

Thirteen award recipients were selected by a panel of judges comprised of Indianapolis and Marion County representatives. Award winners were selected based upon initiative and notable work accomplished through community service. In keeping with tradition, the name of each award recipient will be engraved on individual bricks and added to the Mayor’s Volunteer Plaza, located in the 11th St. Admiral Spruance Basin on the Indianapolis Canal Walk.

Brenda Horn, former deputy managing partner of the Firm, has practiced in Ice Miller's Municipal Finance Group for more than 30 years. She has served as bond and issuer counsel for a broad spectrum of issuers from health care organizations to state and local governmental units.
