Ice Miller Partner Erik Long Named to Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Class

Ice Miller LLP partner Erik Long has been selected to participate in this year’s Stanley K. Lacey Executive Leadership program. Long is one of 25 community and business leaders in Indianapolis who was chosen to participate in the highly competitive program, which seeks to expand the ranks of community leaders by teaching and motivating members to address the needs of Central Indiana.

Long was selected because of his significant community involvement and professional achievement. He is a partner in Ice Miller’s Public Finance Group where serves public school corporations, higher education institutions, libraries and other political subdivisions in a wide variety of municipal finance transactions, through the issuance of general obligation bonds, lease financings, revenue bonds and tax anticipation warrants. He also advises political subdivisions on state laws related to referendum and petition/remonstrance processes.

In addition, Long is actively involved in his community. He is currently serving as the chair of the board of directors of the Indianapolis-based School on Wheels and in his fifth year serving on the organization’s board. He has also volunteered for the Indiana Bar Association’s Ask a Lawyer series and for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis. Long is a prior graduate of the United Way’s Leadership United-Generation Now Series.

The SKL Class XLVI will meet monthly from September 2022 to June 2023 and interact with local leaders, professional experts and community decision makers to discuss a range of community issues.

Now in its 46th year, the SKL Series began in 1976 to honor the memory of Indianapolis business leader Stanley K. Lacy by encouraging and supporting other young professionals in their community work. Since its inception, more than eleven hundred people have gone through the ten-month program and many of the significant leaders in Indianapolis are graduates of the program or have served as moderators, including numerous Ice Miller lawyers and business professionals.
