Ice Miller Partner Mary Nold Larimore Inducted into the Academy of Law Alumni Fellows

Ice Miller LLP is proud to congratulate partner Mary Nold Larimore on her induction into the Academy of Law Alumni Fellows at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Established in 1985, the Academy of Law Alumni Fellows recognizes alumni who have distinguished themselves in their careers through personal achievements and dedication to the highest standards of the profession. With professional roles ranging from U.S. senators to federal judges to managing partners of national law firms, Academy Fellows bring honor to the legal profession. Induction into the Academy is the highest honor the Maurer School of Law bestows upon its graduates.

“In her over 35 years at Ice Miller, Mary has displayed mastery of her practice, earned respect from her peers at all levels and received the utmost trust from her clients and those she advises,” said Judy Okenfuss, managing partner at Ice Miller. “Mary exemplifies the spirit of this recognition and will continue to be an excellent representative of her alma mater, Ice Miller and the legal profession.”

Mary’s primary practice concentration is in litigation, focusing on product liability litigation, the defense of pharmaceutical and drug and device manufacturers, chemical companies, toxic tort litigation and commercial litigation. She is co-chair of the Firm’s Drug and Device Group and served as a director in the Firm’s Litigation Section, the first woman at Ice Miller to serve in that role. Mary has served as national, regional and local counsel in drug, device and chemical exposure litigation, as well as expert witness counsel. She regularly addresses scientific, epidemiologic and complex medical issues in multi-jurisdictional litigation.

Mary was the first woman from the state of Indiana to be inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. She is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and a member of the Internal Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute and Lawyers for Civil Justice. In addition, she served for ten years on the Indiana Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure by appointment of the Chief Justice. In that role, which included a term as chair, she worked to align the Indiana Trial Rules with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Mary received her Bachelor of Arts, with distinction, from Indiana University. She holds a juris doctor from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, where she graduated cum laude in 1980. She is on the Board of Visitors of Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

The Academy of Law Alumni Fellows induction dinner and ceremony took place in Bloomington at the Indiana Memorial Union on Friday, April 13, 2018. Fellow 2018 inductees included Jane E. Raley (posthumously), Denice M. Torres and Yu-Chi (Tony) Wang.
