Ice Miller’s Stephen Reynolds Named to IBJ’s Forty Under 40

Ice Miller congratulates Stephen Reynolds for being named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s 2017 Forty Under 40 list. Stephen Reynolds is a partner at Ice Miller, and co-chair of the Firm’s Data Security and Privacy practice. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and data security and privacy law.
“Stephen is at the forefront of new and exciting fields of law,” said Steve Humke, chief managing partner of Ice Miller. “His clients rely on him for his legal and technical insights as they navigate the benefits and challenges of innovation. As a firm, we benefit from Stephen’s professional leadership and his unwavering commitment to the Indianapolis community.”
As a former computer programmer and IT analyst, Stephen is able to use his computer background in cases involving data security and privacy, electronic discovery, social media discovery, and computer forensics. Stephen has given presentations on data security and privacy, electronic discovery, and social media discovery, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
Stephen serves as the professional development chair of the Minority Trial Lawyer Committee for the American Bar Association, and sits on the Indiana University Maurer School of Law - Black Law Student Association (BLSA) Alumni Advisory Board. Stephen is the vice president of the Concord Neighborhood Center Board. The Concord Neighborhood Center, which serves people of all age groups on the south side of Indianapolis, was founded as a settlement house for German, and then Jewish, immigrant populations. Concord helped these immigrant families assimilate into their new lives in Indy and continues to welcome people of different views and cultures since its founding in 1875.
Additionally, Stephen advises on legal and privacy concerns as they relate to childhood programs with the Indiana Early Learning Advisory Committee, a government workgroup under the Family and Social Services Administration. The handling of secure data on children is becoming more prevalent in today’s world, and Stephen works to help assure organizations that they are protecting data on children and childcare.
Stephen also co-teaches a course on Data Security and Privacy Law at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law: Indiana University.
