Ice Miller Sponsors Entrepreneur Learning for Black Business Owners

Ice Miller is working with The Lonely Entrepreneur (TLE), a New York-based non-profit that empowers individuals with entrepreneurial skills and support, to provide Black entrepreneurs with free access to the knowledge, tools, and the ongoing support they need to start or grow a business.

Through the joint initiative, Ice Miller will provide Black entrepreneurs with one-year free access to The Lonely Entrepreneur Learning Community – a one-stop-shop platform that provides entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools, and ongoing support they need to start or grow a business. 

“The potential of Black business owners is limitless. But many lack access to the training and capital to turn their passion into success,” said Michael Dermer, Founder of The Lonely Entrepreneur. “Ice Miller’s support of the Black Entrepreneur Initiative will empower Black entrepreneurs with free access to the resources they need to start or scale a business.” 

The support from Ice Miller will make The Lonely Entrepreneur’s Learning Community platform available to aspiring and current Black entrepreneurs in the Indianapolis area.  The program will also enable Indiana corporations and philanthropies to support a certain number of Black entrepreneurs in the program. 

“Too often Black entrepreneurs lack access to the tools and support they need to unlock their full potential,” said Kip Tew, a partner at Ice Miller and member of the Diversity & Inclusion Council. “Our support and work with The Lonely Entrepreneur will put those tools in the hands of Black entrepreneurs in an effort to improve the chance of success.” 

Ice Miller joins organizations across the United States in unprecedented cooperation in empowering historically underrepresented entrepreneurs through the Black Entrepreneur Initiative which include Microsoft, UPS, ESPN, Molson Coors, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Charlotte Hornets, Richard Petty Motorsports, Ally Bank and AARP, just to name a few.
