Ice Miller Welcomes Joe Heaton as Senior Director of Public Affairs

Ice Miller LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Joe Heaton to its Public Affairs Team as a senior director of public affairs. He will be based in Washington, D.C. Heaton is an experienced, government affairs professional with significant experience working for food and beverage and cannabis clients before the federal government as well as several statehouses. Prior to joining Ice Miller, Heaton served as the executive director of government affairs for Forian Inc. (NASDAQ:FORA), a software solutions, proprietary data and predictive analytics business for healthcare, cannabis and governmental entities. He also served as the senior director of federal affairs of the Beer Institute.

He also has represented beer producing and importing businesses in the U.S. on behalf of a national trade association as well as significant federal and state legislative and policy experience, having worked for both U.S. Representative Mike Turner (R-OH), the Lead Republican of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and member of the House Armed Services Committee and former U.S. Representative Jon Runyan (R-NJ).

Heaton has a J.D from Penn State Law where he was the articles editor of the Journal of American Arbitration. He has a B.A. from Miami University of Ohio where he majored in diplomacy and foreign affairs and was the recipient of the W.A. Driscoll and Earl L. Reeder Scholarships.
