Marilee Springer Rejoins Ice Miller LLP as Partner

Springer rejoins Ice Miller after serving the Office of Indiana Governor Mike Pence

Indianapolis, Ind. - Ice Miller LLP is pleased to announce that Marilee Springer will return to the firm after 18 months of service to the State of Indiana in the Office of Indiana Governor Mike Pence.

Springer served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Pence. She returns to Ice Miller, where she practiced law for 16 years prior to serving the State. During her time with the Pence administration, Springer was responsible for oversight and management of executive agencies, the cabinet, boards and commissions; management of the personnel process for selection of agency heads and the performance evaluation process; and input regarding policy, legislative and communications strategies for the Governor and executive agencies.

She is a highly experienced and talented partner whose dedicated public sector experience will provide valuable insights and perspectives for the firm's tax-exempt and governmental clients.  

Springer's return adds strength to Ice Miller's nonprofit and tax-exempt practice. Ice Miller attorneys actively advise nonprofits large and small regarding their corporate, tax and governance issues. Springer will be among the firm's nonprofit and tax exempt group responsible for advising clients on governance issues; conflicts of interest; executive recruitment, retention and compensation; board/staff relations; grant and contract execution and compliance; and federal and state tax compliance.

Springer received dual bachelor's degrees in psychology and law and society, with distinction, from Purdue University in 1993.  She received her juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis in 1996, where she served as a note development editor for the Indiana Law Review.
