CFPB Issues Guidance to Consumers Regarding Resources to Protect Their Finances During the COVID-19 Crisis

On March 24, 2020, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued a media release compiling its consumer guidance to “protect their finances during the Covid-19 pandemic, including how to avoid financial scams and submit complaints to the Bureau.” Link: CFPB COVID-19 Guidance to Consumers. The compiled resources include suggestions on working with lenders and loan servicers, coordinating with housing and credit counselors, investigating consumer reports, responding to debt collection activities, and filing complaints with the CFPB.
