DOS Global Health Advisory and Suspension of Visa Services at all U.S. Embassies and Consulates

The U.S. Department of State (DOS) has issued a Global Health Advisory advising U.S. citizens to avoid all international travel as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Travelers are encouraged to return to their country of residence immediately and develop “a travel plan that does not rely on the U.S. government for assistance.” Additionally, beginning March 20, 2020, DOS has temporarily suspended routine immigrant and non-immigrant visa services at all U.S. Embassies and Consulates. As resources allow, emergency and mission critical visa services will be made available. Services to U.S. citizens also continue to be available. For country-specific information concerning COVID-19, please visit the DOS’ list of embassy websites located here.

If you have questions regarding global travel or U.S. immigration, please contact Jenifer M. Brown or Christl Glier.
