The depth and experience of the Ice Miller Collegiate Sports Practice enables our team to provide effective representation to a NCAA member institution in the event that it needs to conduct an internal investigation into possible NCAA violations or must respond to a NCAA Notice of Allegations and/or appear before the NCAA Committee on Infractions (COI).
The Collegiate Sports Practice has proven experience with conducting investigations, responding to an NCAA Notice of Allegations, presenting information at a hearing before the COI hearing and assisting NCAA member institutions with an appeal of an NCAA penalty or finding.
The team has worked with many member institutions, through their athletic directors and general counsels, in responding to allegations of NCAA rules violations and presenting that information in a favorable light before the COI.
The Collegiate Sports Practice also offers assistance in writing and presenting appeals before the NCAA Infractions Appeals Committee (IAC). Knowledge of case precedent enables us to develop and present persuasive arguments on behalf of our clients.
In the event that a student-athlete is found to be ineligible for competition, Ice Miller is frequently requested to present information to the Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee.
