Changing the Conversation From #MeToo to #NotHere
Tuesday, February 27, 2018
12:00 p.m.
1:30 p.m. (EST)
The #MeToo movement has resulted in renewed attention to anti-harassment programs within the workplace. But are anti-harassment programs enough? In this webinar, Tami Earnhart and Catherine Strauss will focus not only on the legal requirements, but on ways employers can change the conversation from "don't (harass)" to "do (respect)" and build a better workplace by embracing the movement, rather than living in fear of #Who'sNext. This program is valid for 1 PDC for the SHRM-CPsm or SHRM-SCPsm.

#PayMeToo - Is Equal Pay Liability Lurking in Your Company’s Future?
Tuesday, April 10, 2018
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. (EDT)
The Women’s March, the #MeToo movement…the next big event in what many are calling a “sea change” in women’s issues could very well arise in the area of employee pay. Is your company ready? Unlike other discrimination laws, the Equal Pay Act places the burden on employers to prove that a pay decision was made for a non-discriminatory reason. Attend this session to learn about this and other laws that prohibit unequal pay for equal work, the importance of creating and maintaining documentation supporting pay decisions to help defend claims, and ways to proactively address this issue in your workplace. This program is valid for 1 PDC for the SHRM-CPsm or SHRM-SCPsm.

Consequences of Hire American Executive Order
Thursday, May 3, 2018
12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. (EDT)
The President’s Executive Order on Buy American, Hire American directs federal agencies to protect the U.S. workforce through changes to the employment-based immigration system, particularly the H-1B program. We will explore current policy changes already underway, such as promotion of the federal e-verify program, reinterpretation of what qualifies as an H-1B specialty occupation and elimination of deference on previous immigration decisions. We also will discuss potential changes that could occur under this EO, including changes to the H-1B lottery system, shifting to a merit-based immigration system and increased employer penalties for fraud and abuse.

Addressing #MeToo Claims
Tami Earnhart and Catherine Strauss
Thursday, June 7, 2018
12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. (EDT)

The #MeToo movement has resulted in new claims, some of which might be based on recent facts and some of which may have happened long ago. When you are faced with an internal complaint – or you become aware of an issue through social media posts – how should you respond? In this webinar, Tami Earnhart and Catherine Strauss will discuss best practices for addressing harassment claims, including ensuring a fair and effective investigation that leads to the right result, reinforces a respectful culture, limits risk to the employer and builds goodwill for all involved. This is a continuation of a prior webinar about changing the conversation from #MeToo to #NotHere.
