Cody Laska is an associate in Ice Miller’s Business Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Cody worked as an associate at a multinational investment bank and financial services company, where he administered the trusts and estates of high net worth clients.
In 2021, Cody earned his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. While at Brooklyn, Cody served as a student clinician for the Safe Harbor Project where he helped prepare a successful asylum application for a client fleeing persecution for his ties to the United States. Cody also served as a Research Assistant for Constitutional Law Professor William Araiza and was a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Devin P. Cohen of the Kings County Supreme Court. In each of these roles, Cody conducted legal and non-legal research and drafted memoranda on topics ranging from the Animus Doctrine to fraud.
Cody earned his Bachelor of Science in finance, magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University in 2017.
Representative Transactions
- Represented Centerfield Capital Partners and Silver Peak Partners in the sale of their portfolio company Beacon Communications, LLC, a communications and security solutions provider. Also served as counsel in a variety of corporate matters, including workplace solutions, real estate, tax, insurance, and government contracts.
- Representation of NMR, a portfolio company of White Wolf Capital, a Miami-based private equity firm focused on management buyouts, recapitalizations and investments in leading middle market companies, in the simultaneous acquisition of Advanced Restoration, Inc., a restoration, mitigation and mold-remediation business based in Florida, and ProFire, LLC, a fire, water and storm damage restoration and remediation business based in Georgia. Also, served as company counsel to NMR in a variety of corporate matters, including with respect to employment matters, equity and debt financings, and other outside general counsel matters.
