Elaine Vullmahn Dorsett serves as a conflicts attorney at Ice Miller. Her areas of concentration include legal ethics and professional responsibility as part of the Firm’s Risk & Information Governance Group. As a key component of the Firm’s new business intake and hiring processes, she manages all conflicts data for new clients, new matters and submissions across all offices.

Elaine joined Ice Miller in 2017. She brings multidimensional and management experience in the areas of compliance, ethics and risk management. She has more than 15 years of compliance experience working in highly regulated industries and more than 7 years of experience practicing as a licensed attorney in Indiana and Illinois.

Beginning her career as an accounting professional, Elaine gained progressive experience in internal audit, compliance, fraud examination and forensic accounting. This background accelerated her transition to an attorney position at a mid-size law firm in Chicago, Ill., where she was a member of the firm’s commercial litigation, professional responsibility and white collar crime practice groups.

Prior to joining Ice Miller, Elaine served in an in-house corporate counsel role at Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. (MISO) where she reduced legal risk by helping internal clients navigate a growing maze of laws and regulations. Her work was focused on the areas of regulatory audits, internal investigations, Standards of Conduct/Code of Business Ethics and corporate level policies and procedures.

In addition to being a licensed attorney in Indiana and Illinois, Elaine continues to hold multiple professional certifications, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) and Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).

Elaine and her husband, Matt, enjoy volunteering and supporting local community organizations, looking for antiques, listening to live music and exploring new places.
