Esther Sandlin works with clients to meet their complex legal needs. In her role at Ice Miller, Esther’s practice primarily focuses on intellectual property, as well as privacy and data protection. She also advises clients on compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and emerging international regulations. 

Her background in the areas of international law and business law allow her to optimize the progression of an issue to determine an optimal result for her clients, where she uses her knowledge to cultivate creative legal strategies in adherence to the U.S. market and foreign legal systems. Through her work, she has developed a wide network of international contacts on various professional levels. 

Prior to joining the firm, Esther worked for an international research society in Freiburg, Germany. She also served as a lecturer at several German universities and is in the process of finalizing work on her doctorate, where she compared intellectual property and criminal policy in Germany and the United States.
