Frank Garrett is an associate in Ice Miller’s Business Group and primarily focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, federal and state securities regulation, and other general corporate matters.
Frank represents both strategic and financial buyers and sellers in all aspects of buying, selling, and combining business entities. Much of his practice involves negotiating, documenting, and closing middle-market private equity transactions, including leveraged buyouts, roll-ups, build-ups, consolidations, divestitures and other exits. He focuses on advising clients regarding the legal and tax consequences arising from debt, equity and mezzanine financing; sales and acquisitions of assets and equity and merger and joint venture transactions. In addition to mergers and acquisitions, he also works with issues relating to entity formation and the financing of business operations, including equity funding from angel investors and venture capitalists, debt structuring and the issuance and sale of securities.
Frank is originally from Evansville, Ind., and he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Evansville in 2011. He earned his juris doctor from the Indiana University, Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2015, where he graduated magna cum laude with a graduate certificate in corporate and commercial law. In law school, he was an associate editor of the Indiana Law Review, a member of the Academic Affairs Committee and a Dean’s Tutorial Society Fellow.
While away from the office, Frank enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, trying to retain the classical Greek he learned as an undergraduate and watching University of Evansville Purple Aces basketball.
Frank is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana.
