Frederick A. Tecce has more than 30 years of civil litigation experience including several dozen jury trials involving a wide-range of subjects. He combines his trial experience as a former assistant U.S. attorney in the criminal division with his engineering background in representing clients in trade secret, patent and other intellectual property matters. A registered patent attorney, Fred brings to the courtroom his to-the-point communication skills honed through years of experience as a national television commentator. He is currently chair of Ice Miller's the Intellectual Property Practice Group and office managing partner of the Firm's Philadelphia office.

A former law clerk to Judge Anthony J. Scirica, Fred has been involved in more than 250 IP matters—more than 125 as lead counsel—including patent, antitrust, copyright, trademark, cyber-squatting, domain name misappropriation, idea misappropriation and unfair competition matters. Fred is experienced in- handling cases on behalf of IP owners and in defense of charges of infringement and misappropriation in industries such as consumer products and appliances, medical devices, juvenile products, building materials, cosmetics, aircraft manufacturing, telecommunications and artificial turf.
In addition to his IP practice, over the years Fred handled significant criminal defense matters, including the kidnapping and killing of a federal witness and organized crime, bank robbery and false reporting cases. He also represented parties through trial in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases. A commercial pilot, Fred also has represented plaintiffs in a number of significant aviation accident cases.
Fred serves on the faculty at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA). He is often called upon to comment on various matters and has appeared countless times on many national networks such as Bloomberg News, The Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, HLN, Fox Business and NBC's The TODAY Show.
Fred is the father of four sons who keep him busy during his off-time with tennis, soccer and drama.
