Jennifer Duman is an associate in Ice Miller’s Business Group where she focuses her practice on commercial contracts and litigation, mergers and acquisitions, technology transfer and intellectual property protection.

Before joining Ice Miller, Jennifer worked at two law firms with an intellectual property focus, first as a law clerk and later as an associate. In these roles, she established and maintained worldwide intellectual property portfolios and protections for clients in a variety of technological sectors. She drafted and negotiated a variety of agreements and conducted intellectual property due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, among other responsibilities. Jennifer has experience monitoring competitor brand growth and new product development for identification of white space opportunities. With technical skills in over a dozen programming languages and numerous frameworks, she has also worked as a consultant in software development. Her combined experience in software development and intellectual property allows her to assist and represent technology-driven clients in complex corporate transactions.

She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in neurogenetics in 2012. As an undergrad, Jennifer was a research associate for The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, Dardinger Lab for Neuro-oncology in the department of Neurological Surgery. She was also a student athlete for the OSU racquetball team.

Jennifer earned her juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Akron School of Law in 2015. During law school, Jennifer was a law clerk at a small civil litigation law firm assisting with matters in all stages of litigation in state and federal courts. Jennifer was also an assistant editor for the Akron Law Review, an inaugural participant in the Summer Trial Academy and a recipient of the CALI award for four different classes.

Jennifer is admitted to practice law in the state of Ohio.
