John Acquaviva is a paralegal in Ice Miller’s Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Practice Group. In addition, John is involved in Ice Miller’s Distressed Investment Group (“DIG”), assisting attorneys on distressed investment strategies and transactions, including bankruptcy and in-court restructurings, out-of-court restructurings and other insolvency-related transactions.

Prior to joining Ice Miller, John was an in-house paralegal for a leading manufacturer of medical and life sciences technologies, industrial solutions and camera and audio products. As a corporate paralegal, John managed large-scale discovery and e-discovery issues, including document preservation, collection and production for litigation and government investigations. He also summarized deposition transcripts and assisted in the preparation of witnesses for depositions.

John previously served as a paralegal for a general practice firm in New York, where he supported multiple partners and associates with daily case management of landmark commercial and mass tort litigation, asbestos, product liability, bankruptcy and intellectual property cases from discovery to trial phase. He has extensive experience reviewing and drafting pleadings, discovery requests, statistics, reports and memoranda relating to data entry, document review and team case meetings.

John supported over 100 students as a legal assistant at Fordham University School of Law before transitioning to his role as a paralegal. He assisted with the daily management of case files and legal documents in Securities Arbitration and Tax, Lending and Consumer Law Clinics.

In 2000, John graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies.
