Kristen Matha serves as Ice Miller’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion. She is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to improve the Firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives.
In her role, Kristen analyzes the Firm’s current diversity and inclusion initiatives and leads strategy and planning efforts for continued improvement. She works closely with Ice Miller’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee to implement change efforts that evolve the Firm’s culture. She communicates closely with all levels throughout the Firm, including the Chief Talent Acquisition Officer, managing partners, attorneys and staff, to understand the Firm’s needs.
Before joining Ice Miller, Kristen was an administrator with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Her work focused on diversity and inclusion, internal operations and regulatory compliance. Her contributions to the NCAA national office’s diversity and inclusion efforts included, coordinating staff educational programs, advancing inclusive workplace policies, building relationships with equality advocates and leading strategic plan development. Kristen is an experienced facilitator and has traveled the country providing cultural competency workshops to students and higher education professionals. 
Kristen received her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in political science from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Ind., in 2003. She received her juris doctor, magna cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law in 2006. While at Michigan State, she was an active member of the Women’s Law Caucus and served as executive editor of the Michigan State Journal of International Law.
