Meredith Wood is an attorney in Ice Miller’s Litigation and White Collar Criminal Defense Practice Groups. Her practice encompasses both white collar matters and traditional litigation. She has extensive experience representing individuals and companies in government enforcement actions and investigations brought by the Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, Securities & Exchange Commission, and state Attorneys General. Meredith has also conducted internal investigations related to fraud, as well as violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act, and securities laws.
In addition to white collar matters, Meredith also has significant experience representing companies, individuals, and municipalities in civil litigation, including business and contractual disputes and private securities litigation. Meredith regularly practices in both federal and state court.
Prior to joining Ice Miller, Meredith held federal clerkships with the Honorable Philip P. Simon of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana and the Honorable D. Michael Fisher of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She was also an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm, where her practice focused on securities and Foreign Corrupted Practices Act-related issues, white collar criminal defense and bankruptcy litigation.
Meredith earned her juris doctor, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as managing editor of the Annual Survey of White Collar Crime, American Criminal Law Review and as a research assistant to Professor Donald Langevoort. She was an active member of the Women’s Legal Alliance and the Craft Beer Society. In addition, Meredith was a student attorney at the Georgetown Law Center Appellate Litigation Clinic, for which she was awarded the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Student Advocacy Award for outstanding student performance.
Meredith holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and history with highest distinction and Phi Beta Kappa from Indiana University.
