Michael Melliere serves as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, bank/purchaser counsel and borrower’s counsel on a variety of tax exempt financings for nonprofit, including charter schools, independent schools, private colleges/universities nursing homes and long-term care facilities, hospitals, senior living communities, and cultural and recreational facilities. 

Mike has served as bond or underwriter's counsel on dozens of tax-exempt financing for charter schools, including charter schools in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Utah.

Mike is also experienced in assisting faith-based organizations and schools in securing tax-exempt financing in states where schools cannot otherwise utilize such financing due to state constitutional impediments. He has served as bond counsel on dozens of tax-exempt bond issues issued by multistate conduit issuers such as Public Finance Authority.

Mike is a regular speaker on tax-exempt financing topics, including as a panelist at conferences such as the National Association of Bond Lawyers' annual Bond Attorneys Workshop.
