Michael Perich is an associate in Ice Miller’s Environmental and Insurance Recovery Practices.

Before joining Ice Miller, Michael served as vice president for a global legal finance firm where he helped lawyers and their clients develop creative financial arrangements that incentivized the efficient prosecution of affirmative litigation. He also helped claim holders monetize claims at different stages of already-pending litigation. Additionally, Michael analyzed new legal theories and claim trends to determine areas best suited for legal finance.

Prior to working in legal finance, Michael’s practice focused on complex commercial litigation and insurance coverage where he represented his clients in court and arbitrational proceedings. Michael has experience at all stages of the litigation process. He has extensive experience drafting dispositive motions for complex insurance coverage and other commercial disputes. He also has formulated comprehensive legal strategies in a variety of matters, which efficiently and favorably resolved his clients’ disputes.

Michael earned his juris doctor from Washington University School of Law, cum laude. During law school, he completed an externship with the Honorable Judge Rodney Sippel of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Michael also served as editor-in-chief of the Washington University Jurisprudence Review, was a research assistant and participated in moot court competitions with the Niagara Moot Court Team.

Michael is admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys woodworking, traveling with his wife, researching new uses of blockchain technology and visiting his family and friends.
