Paul Schmitt is an associate in Ice Miller’s Litigation Group, concentrating his practice in the area of financial litigation.
Paul is a native of Fairbury, Ill. and received his Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009. Paul served as the Urbana campus’ student member to the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. He commissioned from the University of Illinois’ Air Force ROTC program and served as an officer in the United States Air Force for more than four years. During his active duty military service, Paul worked in various roles supporting military satellite communications capabilities and served as a pre-launch liaison to the Boeing Company as part of the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) program.
Paul also worked for the Illinois Republican State Senate Campaign Committee and the Illinois State Senate prior to attending law school.
In 2015 while in law school, Paul served as a legal intern in Rome, Italy for the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Family. Paul worked as a summer clerk for Ice Miller in 2016. He also served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Robert J. Steigmann of the Illinois Fourth District Appellate Court in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, Paul graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Paul is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana as well as in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
