Sam Gardner is an associate in Ice Miller’s Litigation Group. Sam advises clients in insurance coverage matters, managing claims and advocating policy construction that maximize the available insurance recovery. He has experience handling coverage matters in multiple state and federal courts. Sam also provides policyholders with counseling on pre-loss issues, ranging from assessments of coverage for particular risks to help with securing favorable coverage terms at policy inception or renewal.

Sam earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science, summa cum laude, from Wittenberg University in 2012.  During college, Sam lettered in varsity basketball and hosted a weekly radio show. He also volunteered at the Frank Lloyd Wright Westcott House. 
 
Sam graduated from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, summa cum laude, in 2015.  While in law school, he received the Mitzi H. Martin Moot Court Award and served as a member of the Dean’s Tutorial Society. In addition to tutoring law students in legal writing, Sam spent a semester as a teaching assistant at Shortridge High School. 
 
In the summer of 2014, Sam worked as a summer clerk for Ice Miller. Prior to joining the Firm as an associate in 2015, Sam externed with the Academic and Membership Affairs Division of the NCAA and coached high school basketball at Guerin Catholic High School. He currently serves on the school’s Governing Board.  

Sam is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana, and the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
