Somalia Jones is a paralegal for Ice Miller’s Labor and Employment Group.

She previously served as a paralegal for the Columbus Bar Association where she assisted three recent law graduates in opening their own practice in the Columbus Bar Association Incubator Program. She also conducted research on statutes, codes and case law to assist with the drafting of appropriate legal documents for attorneys and maintained client files and billing information.

Prior to transitioning into the role of paralegal, Somalia served as a senior human resources associate at Amazon. Somalia led the training and development of newly onboarded human resources members across five Amazon fulfillment centers in the Midwest. She identified data trends impacting operations and labor plans to support roster management in addition to processing, maintaining and analyzing data for human resources’ metrics to promote compliance with organizational goals and objectives while offering solutions to network trends in data. Somalia was also responsible for the successful onboarding, assimilation and retention of over 10,000 employees within multiple facilities through collaboration with inter-department teams and external vendors. In addition, she executed employee relations-based projects for over 4,000 associates and assisted them in day-to-day human resources generalist functions.

Somalia graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Studies: Management of Human Capital within Organizations. In 2018, Somalia received a paralegal certificate from Capital University of Law.
