Tong Li has extensive experience managing patent portfolios, developing patent strategies, drafting and prosecuting patents and performing patentability, freedom to operate and validity analyses. She previously served as a patent agent for DuPont, Thomas Jefferson University and an Intellectual Property law firm.

Tong’s patent experience includes international work in China as well as in the technical fields of polymeric material, photovoltaic, biotechnology, food science and industrial biosciences. She has drafted and prosecuted patent applications and conducted patentability assessment in the fields of molecular biology, immunology, vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, polypeptides, enzymology, transgenic animals/plants, microbiology and small peptides.

After earning her undergraduate and graduate degrees in biology, Tong conducted research in Arabidopsis as a senior research technician at the University of Chicago before becoming a research associate and scientist for various pharmaceutical companies.

Tong is licensed to practice patent law exclusively before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and represents both foreign and domestic clients before the USPTO in the area of patent prosecution. Tong is not licensed to practice before state and federal court.
