Wayne O. "Skip" Adams III is an attorney Ice Miller's Labor and Employment Group. Since 1974, Skip's practice has been devoted to the representation of employers primarily in employment and labor matters. He regularly advises clients concerning employment contracts, separation and severance agreements, trade secret and non-compete covenants, change in control provisions, and asset purchase agreements. Skip also has substantial experience in defending employers in employment discrimination cases, wrongful discharge lawsuits and labor arbitrations. In addition to his employment and labor law work, Skip has represented several colleges and universities in student-related matters, including discrimination, due process and student-on-student sexual harassment cases.
He has also negotiated numerous collective bargaining agreements and conducted supervisory training on the prevention of harassment and discrimination, and on compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws. He represented Indiana governors Robert Orr and Evan Bayh as legal counsel in employment matters. For the past four years, in addition to advising and representing Ice Miller's clients, Skip also has served as the firm's employment counsel.
A frequent lecturer on employment law topics, Skip spoke at past American Bar Association Annual Meetings on litigation issues in sexual harassment cases and the Americans with Disabilities Act. He has also spoken and written on such topics as wage and hour liability for permitting employees to work during breaks and after hours, defending employers in class action lawsuits, avoiding liability for retaliation, disability discrimination and the employer's duty to accommodate, and many other employment law topics.  
Skip is a former chair of the American Bar Association General Practice Section's Labor Law Committee, as well as of the Indiana State Bar Association Labor Law Section. He is admitted to practice before the state courts of Georgia, as well as the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, all federal and state courts in Indiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
In addition to his responsibilities to the clients and partners of Ice Miller, Skip also serves as Board Chair of Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, the largest food bank in Indiana.
Skip received his Bachelor of Arts from Wabash College in 1971, and his juris doctor, cum laude, from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis in 1974.
Skip joined Ice Miller in May 2001.
