Wendy Joris is a paralegal in Ice Miller's Litigation Group. Wendy works closely with attorneys and clients to assist in all aspects of litigation in the areas of complex business and commercial litigation, securities law, insurance law and coverage disputes, franchising disputes, products liability and personal injury. Wendy also assists the Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Group with cases before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, including Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 proceedings, case administration, collections proceedings, and adversary proceedings associated with bankruptcy cases.

Wendy's primary functions in these areas include fact investigation and development; collection and evaluation of financial, medical and other records; legal and background research; complex case management; drafting legal documents under the supervision of attorneys; participating in the discovery process; and assisting at trial, deposition and alternate dispute resolution. She has also assisted with lengthy proceedings before Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitration panels involving claims in the securities industry. 

In performing her functions during the discovery phase of litigation, Wendy is responsible for managing large document databases containing hundreds of thousands of documents and hundreds of gigabytes of electronic data. Wendy manages the data collection, coordinates and participates in review and evaluation of the data, and handles the production of electronically stored information (ESI) during the discovery process. Wendy is proficient and effective in her use of the database, which includes searching and analyzing key documents and information relevant to the issues in litigation.

Wendy has been working as a paralegal since earning her Bachelor of Arts in paralegal studies from Ball State University in 1995. She has been a litigation paralegal with Ice Miller since 1998. Prior to joining Ice Miller, she was a paralegal with the Indiana Attorney General's Office in the Torts and Real Estate Litigation Sections.

Wendy is a member of the Indiana Paralegal Association and a Paralegal member of the Indianapolis Bar Association.
