Appellate

Ice Miller's Appellate practice group has extensive experience representing clients in state and federal appellate courts across the country on a broad range of matters, including intellectual property, administrative law, constitutional questions, commercial litigation, labor and employment, class actions, insurance, and product liability, among others.

We are involved in every stage of litigation—not just the appeal itself. Our appellate attorneys guide trials from an appellate perspective, making sure an appellate strategy is integrated from the outset of the dispute. Our team collaborates with trial counsel to draft critical motions and to identify and preserve appellate issues. We are ready to assist with interlocutory appeals, appeals of final judgments, and post-trial appeals, and we also prepare amicus briefs on legal and policy issues of key importance to our clients.

Our Appellate practice group has been routinely recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and listed as Metropolitan Tier 1 in U.S. News & World Report. Many of our appellate lawyers are former clerks from federal and state courts of appeal and district courts around the country. We even have a former associate justice of the Indiana Supreme Court, Myra C. Selby, in our ranks, who provides our attorneys and clients with invaluable perspective and insight.
