Ice Miller Senior Counsel and former Managing Partner, Philip C. Genetos has been awarded the Indiana Affordable Housing Council (IAHC) Award for Leadership in Affordable Housing. 

The award recognizes and honors an individual who serves as a role model, exemplifies the qualities of leadership and passion and makes improving the lives of Hoosiers through the provision of safe, decent and affordable housing an integral part of their daily work. 

Genetos was a draftsman of legislation for the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, Indiana Finance Authority, The Illinois Housing Development Authority and served as bond counsel to each. 

Since 1978, he has been bond counsel to Citizens Energy Group, and worked on its gas prepayment financing in 2007 and acquisition of the Thermal Energy System and the Water and Wastewater Systems, a $2 billion transaction that was the largest public utility acquisition at the time. 

He also played key role in the financing of Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. and He provides legal counsel on numerous other airport, housing and port development projects, which boosts Indianapolis’ and Indiana’s visibility and makes the city and state desirable destinations to create new avenues for commerce and strengthen economic impact.

The awards luncheon and presentation took place on September 26, during the 2023 Indiana Housing Conference.
