Daniel Polatsek

Daniel Polatsek is the co-chair of Ice Miller's White Collar Defense & Investigations Group. For more than 20 years, Dan has represented corporations, boards of directors, executives and other professionals in high-stakes criminal, regulatory and civil matters. His practice combines white collar criminal defense, internal investigations and complex commercial litigation, allowing him to guide clients through every phase of a crisis, from the earliest stages of a government inquiry through trial and appeal.

Dan represents public and private companies across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, financial services, insurance, pharmaceuticals, higher education and nonprofit organizations. He also regularly advises senior executives, directors, general counsel and other business professionals facing significant legal and regulatory scrutiny.  His white collar practice focuses on government investigations, grand jury proceedings and enforcement actions involving allegations of fraud, bribery, securities violations, healthcare fraud, public corruption, tax offenses, violations of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and other business crimes. Dan frequently counsels organizations and individuals who have not been charged with wrongdoing but are navigating the substantial legal, strategic and reputational risks associated with government investigations.

Dan also leads sensitive internal investigations on behalf of boards, audit committees and senior management. He advises clients confronting allegations of misconduct, corruption, conflicts of interest, whistleblower claims and other governance-related concerns, including matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. In addition to identifying facts and assessing legal exposure, Dan helps organizations manage the regulatory, operational and reputational issues that often accompany significant internal investigations.
