Preparing for What’s Ahead: Cybersecurity Requirements, Resources, and Next Steps for Indiana Local Governments Webinar
Cybersecurity for Indiana local governments is no longer solely an IT issue — it is an operational and governance responsibility at reaches every department and every elected leader.
With Indiana state law now requiring local governments to complete cybersecurity assessments, adopt written policies, report incidents, designate a cybersecurity contact, implement multi-factor authentication (MFA), and additional obligations for water and wastewater utilities. At the same time, new federal rules are on the horizon. County, city, town and utility local government leaders are being asked to prepare for a rapidly evolving compliance and threat landscape — often with limited budgets and staff.
This webinar will cut through the complexity. Chetrice Romero, Senior Cybersecurity Advisor at Ice Miller, Brett Edstene, Local Government Program Director from the Indiana Office of Technology, and Travis Goodwin, with the Indiana Department of Enviornmental Management, will lead a practical, plain-language webinar designed specifically for Indiana counties, cities, towns, and utility leadership. This session will walk attendees through the upcoming state and federal cybersecurity requirements, highlight free resources available to local governments, and outline the practical next steps leadership can take now — before deadlines start approaching and before fall budget planning gets underway.
