About the Conference:

P2F2 provides educational opportunities throughout the year for our members.  In most cases we are able to offer CPE credits to those who attend. Our annual conference, which typically takes place each October, is well known as the best place for public pension plan finance staff to get educated on the topics most relevant to their positions. The annual conference is held in-person and provides attendees with roughly 22-25 CPE credits.

Program Description:

During this session we will focus on various aspects of federal tax compliance, including impermissible elections in governmental qualified plans, Internal Revenue Code (IRC) limits with respect to compensation, contributions and benefits under qualified governmental plans, the rules for service purchases and recent Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidance.

After attending this session, you will be able to:

• Identify plan qualification and taxation issues raised by participant elections under qualified governmental plans
• Understand how the IRC limits, with respect to compensation, contributions and benefits, as well as limits on service purchases, apply to qualified governmental plans
• Understand the most recent IRS guidance for plan taxation and qualification compliance
