Outgoing managing partner Michael Millikan said last year’s results demonstrate that the firm is operating from a position of strength, and his comments were echoed by incoming managing partner Joshua Christie.

Part of the firm’s recent success can be attributed to the addition of “substantial practices over the past year,” Christie said in an interview Wednesday. This includes a new group in Cleveland that joined the firm last fall and the increased bankruptcy work that came with the recent opening of the new Wilmington office.

“It’s hard to pinpoint a single factor (for success) because I think it was our partners being really entrepreneurial and hitting everything with the full court press and coming out from every direction,” Christie said.

While the transactional practices—notably private equity and M&A—saw great success in 2025, Christie said there weren’t any particularly noteworthy underperforming practice areas. The health care and life sciences practices also fared well, he added.
