Ice Miller partners Diane Bell, Kathleen Scheil Scheidt, and Caitlin Podbielski have been named 2024 Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Women in Law. 

Bell serves as Ice Miller’s Chicago Office Managing Partner while maintaining an active practice in the firm’s Business Group, where she focuses on M&A transactions and represents private equity clients in all stages of their investment cycles, from acquiring a new portfolio company through exit—and at each stage in between. Bell also routinely represents founders, management teams, and strategic acquirors.   

Scheidt serves as Chair of Ice Miller’s Workplace Solutions Practice Group overseeing a cross-functional and multidisciplinary team that covers labor, employment, employee benefits, and immigration. In addition, in the context of her individual practice, Scheidt focuses on a myriad of employee benefits issues that include defined benefit pension plans, plan governance and fiduciary duties, equity and other incentive arrangements, non-qualified deferred compensation, and securities law compliance for compensation and benefit arrangements. 

Podbielski is a partner in the firm’s Business Group who primarily counsels a wide variety of professional and tax-exempt organizations around the country regarding their governance and operations. She is a part of the firm’s outside general counsel practice, where she works closely with organizations’ boards of directors, executive leadership teams, and staff to facilitate their business needs and execute strategic initiatives.
