Ed is a partner and co-chair of the Firm’s Business Group and serves as chair of the Firm’s Finance Committee. Ed is also a member of the Firm's Board of Directors. Ed has extensive experience in private equity and venture capital investments, including early stage and growth equity financings, tender offers, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Ed also acts as outside general counsel to numerous private companies. Ed has represented clients in a wide range of industries but focuses his practice on pharmaceutical and gene therapy product development and manufacturing, biotechnology, health care and pharmaceutical company creation and expansion, medical and dental practice management, health care IT, contract research organizations, clinical research sites, clinical laboratories and ambulatory surgery centers.
During the last five years, Ed has closed more than 125 transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $9.0 billion.
Prior to joining Ice Miller, Ed practiced for 14 years at Goodwin Procter LLP in New York where he was a partner in the Private Equity Group.
