Kevin Woodhouse’s primary practice concentration is in health care. He represents health care related clients on various business matters, including buy/sell transactions, joint ventures, federal and state legislative and regulatory issues, compliance issues, contracts, health planning, various managed care issues, and health care reform issues.

Kevin's transactional practice is a diverse one and ranges from representing hospitals and physicians in the sale of physician practices to representing hospitals and health systems in affiliations and single hospital and multi-hospital transactions, including transactions involving governmental entities. Kevin works with Ice Miller's health care transactional team to address the various issues that arise in such transactions, including preparing for the transaction, identifying potential partners, managing the partner selection process, negotiating letters of intent, conducting due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, addressing legal issues, and, as applicable, managing any governmental approval process.

Kevin's managed care practice includes representation of providers on a variety of contracting matters. He also represents managed care organizations on regulatory matters before the Indiana Department of Insurance. He has also represented health facilities on various matters including regulatory issues before the Indiana Department of Health. Kevin counsels clients on compliance issues including fraud and abuse issues under the Federal Stark Law and the Anti-kickback Statute. His long-term care practice includes acting as counsel for long-term care providers and associations.

He has lectured and presented seminars on numerous topics relating to hospital and other health care transactions, the Affordable Care Act and health care reform, managed care, contracting, long-term care and many other health care issues.

Kevin was born in Detroit, Michigan but attended secondary school in Indianapolis, Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1985, graduating with highest distinction. While at Indiana University, he was selected a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his juris doctor from the University of Michigan in 1989.

He joined Ice Miller in 1989 and is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana.

Kevin and his wife, Susan, have three children, Hannah, Katie and Will.
