Michael Millikan serves as the chief managing partner of Ice Miller. His primary area of concentration is private equity and venture capital, but he also focuses on public-private partnerships and entrepreneurial companies.

Meet Our Dealmakers: Michael Millikan

Michael's experiences include representing private equity clients in numerous equity and mezzanine investments, serving as general counsel to many of his private equity clients' portfolio companies, and assisting family-owned businesses in succession planning including sale transactions. He also represents a number of high energy entrepreneurial companies in strategic planning, raising money and achieving growth through acquisitions. Michael has significant experience in public-private partnerships. He represented the state of Indiana in the lease of the Indiana Toll Road, the Indiana Finance Authority in negotiating a long-term supply contract for substitute natural gas, the city of Indianapolis in the lease of the city's parking meters, the Ohio Department of Transportation in the construction of the Cleveland Innerbelt Bridge and has represented bidders in both the Midway Airport and Chicago Parking Garage privatizations.

Michael received his Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University in 1994, where he studied business, history and Japanese. After college, he spent a year in Tokyo, Japan, teaching English to Japanese high school students. In 1998, he received his juris doctor from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. Michael worked as a clerk for Ice Miller in 1997 and 1998 before joining Ice Miller full time in August 1998.

When he is not working, he enjoys playing golf and traveling.

He is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana.
