Michael Millikan serves as the chief managing partner of Ice Miller, dedicated to helping guide the Firm’s implementation of strategy, governance, and initiatives toward the overarching goal of providing continuous improvement to its client service. In addition to his leadership duties, Michael maintains a thriving private equity and M&A practice, with additional focus advising on public-private partnerships and supporting entrepreneurial companies.
Michael brings to bear decades of experience representing private equity clients in numerous equity and mezzanine investments, serving as general counsel to many of his private equity clients' portfolio companies, as well as assisting family-owned businesses in the full range of succession planning opportunities, including sale transactions. He also represents a number of cutting-edge entrepreneurial companies in strategic planning, raising capital, and achieving growth through acquisitions. Michael also boasts significant experience in headline-garnering public-private partnerships, having represented the state of Indiana in the lease of the Indiana Toll Road, the city of Indianapolis in the lease of the city's parking meters, the Ohio Department of Transportation in the construction of the Cleveland Innerbelt Bridge, and bidders in both the Midway Airport and Chicago Parking Garage privatizations.
Michael received his Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University, where he studied business, history, and Japanese. After college, he spent a year in Tokyo, teaching English to Japanese high school students, and subsequently received his juris doctor from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis.
