Ice Miller assisted U.S. Paper Mill Company secure the purchase of the former Chillicothe paper mill property, enabling the company to restart operations at a historic site with deep community significance.

The transaction centered on acquiring the property that once housed the Chillicothe paper mill, previously owned by Pixelle Specialty Solutions, and positioning it for a new chapter of manufacturing and investment.

U.S. Paper Mill Company announced the purchase in October 2025 and quickly started back up activity on the plant. Less than six months later, the facility had hired approximately 120 workers and produced more than 500,000 gloves. Efforts continue to expand training programs, begin manufacturing glove making machines, and grow into other areas of personal protective equipment (PPE). The relaunch supports a growing medical PPE market while helping to rebuild local opportunity through job creation and community engagement.
